1. paint a bird body and head. Add a long tail.
2. make two hand prints for the wings.
3. dot on a white eye with a black middle
4. dip a leaf in paint. press it onto your paper. (as a project in February, you may want to use a silk leaf, or a leaf stamp if possible.
5. peel the leaf off and repeat with other leaves.

Project: stand up hippo
1. fold a piece of thin cardboard in half.
2. draw a hippo. Make it touch top and bottom of paper.
3. cut it out, but don't cut along the folded edge.
4. glue on tissue paper shapes. Let dry.
5. use a pen to draw eyes, nose and ears.
